Iceland Day 2 - Landmannalaugar - Thingvellir national park
Good Morning Fellas !! As the morning sun kissed the earth, the blue sky blushed .After a cold night sleep, we woke up to a beautiful day. Grateful and overjoyed to have a whole new day and no plan whatsoever, on how to spend it.Packed the tent , freshened up , and geared the car and there we go ..
Shore Drive in Reykjavik .
Hallgrimskirkja Church , Reykjavik
On the way to Landmannalaugar , in the Highlands of Iceland .It is famous for it natural geothermal hot springs and breathtaking scenery. We were really enthusiastic to see this place as we heard , you need cross rivers to reach the campsite and the hikes lead you to colorful mountains. But fate had something different stored for us.
High mountains all around you. It is like they never leave you. They play hide and seek all the way .
We stopped here to take some pictures and were informed that some horses will be arriving shortly at the farm. We waited for some time to witness the next few minutes of absolute bliss. To see these beautiful Icelandic horses with their own gait gallop towards us .It was one of the most precious memory that we will always cherish.
This is my favorite picture . I love the expressions in the riders' face.
Definition of traffic congestion in Iceland.
The white mane of the horse is so very attractive.
When moving away from the hilltop saw its perfect reflection in the mirror.
We refilled our tank here at the last gas station before we reach landmannalaugar campsite. As we moved little ahead we realized the road has not opened yet since winter .
We headed back to Reykjavik campsite via the Thingvellir national park
The sun was almost at the horizon but it refused to set in summer in Iceland.
